Abstract:

A nanocomposite based galactose biosensor was prepared by covalent immobilization of galactose oxidase on to Silver nanoparticles/carboxylated multiwalled carbon nanotubes/polyaninine decorated gold electrode. Characterization of working enzyme electrode was done by Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Electron impedence spectroscopy(EIS) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR). Detection limit was found 0.5mM, within 2 sec at pH 6. The biosensor showed a working linear range upto 18mM. The prepared biosensor was used for detection of galactose in human serum.
