Abstract: 

In this paper an attempt has been made to fit Marshall and Olkin (1997) generalized family of distributions with special case of exponential distribution. Bayesian approach has been adopted to fit this model as survival model. Codes have been developed in R and JAGS to implement the Bayesian approach using both optimization and simulation tools. Right censoring case is illustrated for a real data and comparison of Bayesian simulation and optimization tools have been made.
