The present study is conducted to determine the effects of adolescents’ self-esteem levels on their decision-making processes. General scanning model is used. The study is conducted with 608 students who were between the ages of 13 and 14 and attending secondary schools in Ankara, Turkey. In order to collect the data of the present study, the Personal Information Form, Coopersmith Self-Esteem InventorySEl and Adolescent Decision-Making Questionnaire were applied to students. Findings of the study are as follows: adolescents’ self-esteem levels were found to have effects on their decision-making processes, there were meaningful gender differences in terms of self-esteem and decision-making levels, the 7th grade students had higher scores than the 8th grade students regarding general self-esteem, home-family self-esteem, academic self-esteem, self-esteem (short form) and total self-esteem. Moreover, the behavior of running away from responsibilities were seen less in 7th grade students. Finally, it is found that there was a relation between students’ self-esteem levels and decision-making processes.
