Abstract: 

This paper, has examine the financial performance of Non Banking Financial Company in India from the year 2001 to 2005. On their line of activity NBFCs has been categorise in five categories and ten companies from each categories totalling fifty companies have been chosen and their technical and allocative efficiencies has been analysed by using Data envelopment Analysis. The study found no direct relation between the experience and performance of the companies. Different categories of company perform differently in the same year. The study revealed that not only the internal factors but a lot of external social and economical factors affects the performance of Non Banking Financial Companies.
