Abstract:

Schwannomas are benign, slow growing neoplasm that mostly arise from myelinating cells of peripheral nervous system. Intra oral schwannomas itself is rare, tongue being the commonest, but involvement of palate is a rare presentation. A 38years old male, presented with mass inside the oral cavity, swallowing difficulty and voice change for 3 months. As it was large mass almost occluding three fourths oral cavity, retrograde intubation done, mass excised in toto .At this location, the clinical diagnosis was confounded by tumours such as minor salivary gland tumour, fibroma, retension cyst of soft palate. But biopsy revealed Schwannoma which is rare.
