Abstract:

This study assessed the relationships between organizational cynicism and toxic leadership among the teachers in the sample. The correlation values show that there is a very strong positive relationship between variables. Also, the toxic leadership with its sub-dimensions (unappreciativeness, utilitarian, egoistic and psychological dysfunction) can be considered as one of the predictors of the organizational cynicism (cognitive, affective, behavioral). Depending on the ttest results, there are significant differences between two groups with the organizational cynicism, while there are not any differences with the toxic leadership. Understanding the relationships between two negative perceptions can be useful to show and to comment the dark side of the organizations because this kind of leadership is as important as effective leadership to help employees to maximize efficiency and to achieve organizational goals.
