Abstract:

Ultrasonic velocity (U), Density (ρ) and Viscosity (ɳ) have been measured in binary liquid mixtures of Propylene glycol mono propyl ether (PGPE) + Aniline (ANI) and PGPE + 1-Amino-2-propanol (MIPA) at 303.15 K and 313.15 K. From these values, acoustical parameters such as Adiabatic compressibility (β), Free length (Lf), Acoustical impedance (Z) and Molar volume (V) were calculated using standard relations. Excess values such as ZE, LfE, ɳE, UE and VE were also determined. The results are interpreted in terms of molecular interaction such as dipole - dipole interaction or hydrogen bonding between the components of mixture.
