Electronic Health Records are increasing day by day and to handle this enormous data is biggest challenge for hospitals, doctors and healthcare organizations. Data mining is the best and effective technique to manage versatile and huge amount of data. It is used to retrieve the various patterns form large amount of data and these patterns are beneficial for further decision making, model making and many more. The aim of researcher is to study the various infectious diseases, to understand its frequency and impact on health. This paper is intended towards role of data mining in healthcare, need and benefits. Also the paper is engrossed on high frequency viral infectious diseases in Pune city.
