Abstract: 

Various pyrimidine derivatives have been synthesized by reacting chalcones with urea in presence of concentrated hydrochloric acid in methanol. The structure of newly synthesized heterocycles were confirmed by their elemental analysis, IR spectra and 1 H NMR spectra. They were evaluated for their antimicrobial activity.
